Welcome To Comanche Design

Thank you for visiting our site.  It is wonderful to have you here.  Comanches have always been a proud people, but they have also always been known for their hospitality and friendliness.  We welcome you to browse our Galleries and get to know one of the most wonderful families among all of the Comanche Nation -- the Wahnee and Torralba family.  I have been with this family only a short while, but in the time I have spent with them, I have come to know their graciousness, their beauty, and their hospitality.  I am proud of their accomplishments and their work.

It is an honor to build this site to introduce them to the Internet and to the World.  It is my hope that you, too will appreciate the beauty of their work and the depth of their dedication to tradition.  Please read more about them on the About Us page and in each Gallery -- each dedicated to the individual artist and his or her work.

As you browse these pages, remember that these people have put their hearts and lives into their traditions, keeping alive the history behind each pattern and each piece of beadwork.  There is a rich and deep history here.  They keep it alive in their work, in their daily lives, in their powwows, and in their songs and dances.  They keep their language and customs alive.  What a heritage to pass on to their children and grandchildren.  This is such a great gift that they choose to share with us.

I am Penni, wife of the owner of this site.  Undah -- thank you.  May you be blessed during your visit here.

We are holding a special promotion with this shirt.  It is unnamed by the artist!  We are hoping that you can help us find an appropriate name for it. We will be accepting titles for the "Name The Shirt" promotion until Aug 15.  Then, the top 10 names will be put to a public vote.  The first person who submitted the winning title will receive a free t-shirt in their preferred size and color.  To submit the title you think we should call the design on the shirt, go to our "Name The Shirt" page and submit your title and information. For rules and submissions, see the promotions page.
